What are Community Empowerments all about?

Our Community Empowerments stand alongside Region 1 CCR&R to improve the quality of child care in Iowa. Each Community Empowerment Board decides how to spend their money locally based on the recommendations of their Advisory Board. The dollars they provide as grants fund many different services, staff positions and child development tools. We are currently using these dollars to support:

  • Home Consultant
  • Nurse Consultant
  • Educational materials
  • Professional development for providers
  • Preschool Scholarships for children from low-income families
  • Training opportunities
  • Local community needs
