Christian Reformed Students Support Mid-Sioux
The Sunday School students at the Sioux Center Christian Reformed Church collected $1,566.41 to support the local Mid-Sioux office. According to Missy Driesen, Sunday School Superintendent, “We wanted the students to understand what they were giving their money to and give from the heart. The classes set some goals and then fulfilled them.” In order to see and visualize how much money was raised, a picture of a soup can was placed on the wall each time $20.00 was given. The number of cans grew until the final total was reached. That amounts to 78 soup cans and over $1,500.00 for Mid-Sioux services to families. Dick Sievers, Executive Director at Mid-Sioux states “I never stop being impressed with the support that we receive locally. What makes this gift so impressive is that it illustrates how our youth are giving back. When you learn the importance of supporting your fellow man at an early age, it carries throughout the rest of your life. Great job CRC students!”
